Deborah (Arlene) Rather (James)
Bio: As a charter member of RWA, I've published 70 novels in the past three decades. After growing up on a ranch in Oklahoma, I moved to Texas with my family. When I married, we moved all over the south, from Florida to Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas and finally, Oklahoma. After the death of my husband, I stayed in Oklahoma with our young son, until I remarried. The thirty-two years since have been spent primarily in Texas, but we have been privileged to travel over much of the world. My second son was born in 1978, and I sold my first book the following year and have published steadily since.
